Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bae Ji-hwan takes a moment to catch his breath.
Bae Ji-hwan has been scratched from the starting lineup for the Pittsburgh Pirates’ home game against the Oakland Athletics on July 7 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The right-hander was left out of the starting lineup even though the Athletics have announced that they will start right-hander James Kaprillian (6-2, 8.12 ERA).
Pittsburgh announced a lineup of Tukupita Makano (shortstop) Brian Reynolds (left field) Andrew McCutchen (designated hitter) Zack Suwinski (center field) Conor Jo (first base) Josh Palacios (right field) Keeb Bryan Hayes (third base) Rodolfo Castro 메이저놀이터 (second base) and Austin Hedges (catcher).
Bae, who had started the previous day against a left-handed starter, was the lone left-hander out of the lineup.
He’ll be joined on the bench by first baseman Carlos Santana, who was scratched in favor of rest, as well as right fielder Mark Matz and backup catcher Jason Delay.
Oakland, which has the majors’ worst winning percentage at 12-50, announced its lineup for the day as Esther Ruiz (center field) Ryan Noda (first base) Brent Rooker (designated hitter) Seth Brown (right field) Aledmys Diaz (shortstop) J.J. Bledsoe (left field) Shea Langelius (catcher) Jace Peterson (second base) Jonah Bride (third base).
Pittsburgh will start Mitch Keller, who is 7-1 with a 3.25 ERA.
“I’ve talked to the guys about it, but we’re going to focus on what we need to do,” Pittsburgh manager Derek Shelton said of his approach to the game, which was a hard-fought win against the majors’ lowest winning percentage team the day before.
