After filling the void left by Karim Benzema, Judd Bellingham has been named Real Madrid’s Player of the Month for August.

Born in 2003, England’s Bellingham is one of the most sought-after prospects in the world. A product of Birmingham City’s youth academy, he made his first-team debut at the tender age of 16 years and 38 days and quickly became a first-team regular in the 2019-20 season, making 41 appearances in the English Championship (second division). A number of clubs were interested in him.

Bellingham chose Dortmund. Notably, they gifted Birmingham with a transfer fee of around £26 million. This was a huge sum of money for Birmingham, who were struggling financially at the time, and they even retired Bellingham’s number 22 shirt to show their appreciation.

In the summer of 2020, Bellingham headed to the German Bundesliga and quickly began to prove his worth in the big leagues. In 2021-22, he scored three goals and added eight assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances, establishing himself as a key resource for the team, earning three captaincies. He followed that up with eight goals and five assists in 31 league games last season.

Expanding his national team presence Bellingham also played five games for England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring one goal and adding two assists in the midfield. The 19-year-old’s top-notch performances reignited transfer speculation.

At the time, Bellingham was contracted to Dortmund until the summer of 2025. However, many teams were interested in him. Liverpool, Barcelona, Manchester City, and others were mentioned, but in the end, it was Real who won out. This summer, Real paid €130 million to Dortmund for Bellingham.

In doing so, Real completed a complete midfield generational change. After years of positive results with the “Camo Line” of Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro (now at Manchester United), Real prepared for a generational change with the signings of Valverde, Kamavinga, and Chouameni. The final piece of the puzzle was Bellingham.

Bellingham signed a long-term contract with Real until the summer of 2029. He will wear the number five shirt worn by the ‘Legend’ Zinedine Zidane. Bellingham started the league opener and made his debut in the 36th minute, scoring the team’s second goal.온라인바카라

The positive momentum continued. In the second round of La Liga against Almeria, Bellingham had two goals and an assist in the team’s 3-1 win. He then scored the game-winner against Celta Vigo, his third goal in as many games and fourth in the league. No player has scored in the first three La Liga games since Cristiano Ronaldo.

As a result, Bellingham, who was named Spanish La Liga Player of the Month for August, was unsurprisingly named Real Player of the Month. Real announced on their official channels that Bellingham has been named Real Player of the Month.

On being named Real Player of the Month, Bellingham said: “It’s an honor to get off to a great start at Real. It means a lot to have the support and love of the fans, and I’m very happy. We’ve had a perfect start with five wins in five games. We will try to keep it going.”
