Players of FC Chungju, a semi-professional soccer team founded in February of this year with ties to Chungju, held a press conference at the Chungju 안전놀이터 City Hall today (February 23) and called for the owner to resign.
The players demanded the owner’s apology and resignation, claiming that their fellow players were severely traumatized by the owner’s remarks, such as, “The manager, coach, and a few players are conspiring to drive me out.”
In response, the owner said, “I paid all the salaries that had been delayed due to operational difficulties in the middle of this month, and the recent rumors of a sale were completely unrelated to my intentions.
