The Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 8-1 on Thursday (April 24) at Truiste Park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

David Peralta and James Outman followed with swinging strikes, but Miguel Rojas reached on an error by the first baseman. Mookie Betts walked and Freddie Freeman was hit by an intentional pitch to load the bases. Will Smith followed with a two-run double to score Miguel Rojas and Mookie Betts. 4-1.

In the seventh, Mookie Betts walked and Will Smith singled to right to put runners on first and second, and Max Muncy singled to right to score one more run. With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, J.D. Martinez drove in the winning run with a three-run arch to left.

Dodgers starter Bobby Miller, making his big league debut, earned his first win, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five in five innings. Will Smith led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Jason Heyward had two hits, including a home run, and one RBI.

Atlanta starter Spencer Strider, on the other hand, didn’t get much help from the bats, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits (one home run) with three walks and 11 strikeouts in six innings.
