Choi Min-jeong won the 31st Winter Universiade Short Track Women’s 500m final held at the Olympic Center 1932 in Lake Placid, New York on the 21st (Korean time), crossing the finish line first with a time of 44.05 seconds.
Choi Min-jung took her second gold medal in the event following her 1500 m win the day before. The silver medal went to Wang Yiqiao of China. Park Ji-yoon (Korea National Sport University) won the bronze medal.
Choi Min-jung also competed in her mixed relay, where she challenged for a triple crown, but although she came in first, she failed to win her medal due to a disqualification.
However, she is making the ‘Universiade’ a narrow water like Choi Min, who showed her most powerful figure even in the Olympics. It doesn’t seem easy to control Choi Min-jung in this tournament where only college students participate.
