Kim Da-eun won the women’s 100-meter final of the 2023 Yecheon KTFL National Unemployment Athletics Games in 11.86 seconds at Yecheon Stadium in Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, on Wednesday.

In second place was Kim’s twin sister, 메이저사이트 Kim So-eun (Gapyeong County Office). Kim finished the race in 12.11 seconds.

After winning three titles (100, 200, and 400-meter relay) at the 2021 National Championships as a junior at Gapyeong High School, Kim struggled in 2022, her first year of unemployment.

But in 2023, she emerged as one of the most promising female sprinters in South Korea.

In her first national meet of the year, the 2023 Iksan KTFL National Unemployed Athletics Championships (March 29), she ran 11.95, bettering her previous high school best (12.04), and on May 5, she lowered her time to 11.73 at the KBS Boat Trials for the Hangzhou Asian Games, making her a “priority selection” for the Asian Games team.

Returning to the starting line after an 18-day absence, Kim swept the women’s 100 meters at all three national meets this year, crossing the line in 11 seconds despite a 1.2-meter-per-second headwind.

In the men’s 100-meter final, Mo Il-hwan (Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps) won in 10.37, ahead of Kim Tae-hyo (Gwangju Metropolitan Government) in 10.39.

Kim Kook-young (Gwangju Metropolitan Government), who holds the Korean men’s 100-meter record (10.07), did not compete in the event.
