San Diego Padres pitcher Ha-Sung Kim, 28, missed his second straight game with abdominal pain.
Kim was scratched from the starting lineup for the Padres’ 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) home game against the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park in San Diego, California, U.S., on Monday (July 19).메이저놀이터
It was the second consecutive day that Kim did not take the field after leaving the game against the Oakland Athletics the day before due to abdominal pain. San Diego manager Bob Melvin said that tests ruled out appendicitis, but he wasn’t 100 percent sure what the problem was.
Kim expressed his disappointment with the unexpected injury. “I haven’t gotten any clear test results yet,” he told MLB.com. “I’m waiting to hear from the team’s medical staff, and they’re helping me a lot. Unfortunately, I don’t feel very good right now.”
Kim, who has energized the team with his offense, is having a career-high season, batting .265 (133-for-501) with 17 home runs, 58 RBI, 81 runs scored and 36 stolen bases.
With three more home runs and four more stolen bases, Kim will become the first Asian player to reach the 20-homer, 40-steal mark. However, with San Diego only 11 games into the regular season, Kim’s future is unclear.
