She went to study at Wake Forest University, a prestigious American golf school, but she couldn’t adapt, so she gave up golf and moved to University College London (UCL), England, where she studied management science.
After graduating, he worked as a technical manager for the Moroccan Golf Association, then picked up a golf club again, and in 2019 passed the European Women’s Professional Golf (LET) Qualifying School and walked the path of a professional golf player.
Laclalec won the Lacoste Women’s Open at LET France last September. He was the first Moroccan and Arab to win the LET tournament.
Laclalek challenged the LPGA Tour to achieve a bigger dream. He shot 70-72-71-68-68-67-66-73 over eight rounds.
He hit over par only once on the final day, but the 66 strokes he raised in the 7th round the previous day was crucial to winning the tour card.
On the day of the 7th round, Laclalek’s home country Morocco defeated Portugal 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup and advanced to the semifinals for the first time in Africa and Arab countries.
“I’m really, really happy,” Laclalek, who loves the Moroccan team, told AFP.
“I was also inspired by the victory on the course,” he said. “I was moved by what coach Walid Lakraki said to the players. It was possible,” he said without hiding his overwhelming emotion.
“It costs nothing to dream. We can dream of winning,” Lacraqui said to reporters after the win over Portugal.
